If you want a raise you'll have to make a good case for yourself. Jot down some things you've done at work that have gone well. And be prepared to talk about the good work you've done and about how you've grown in your position. You should point out that you're a more effective worker now than when your salary was set a year or two ago. And as you're more productive, you deserve a raise.

My coworker told me she asked for a promotion during every one on one with my boss. I’m thinking that’s the best way to begin talking about raises and promotions.
You can always ask for a one on one with your supervisor and see how they respond to you trying to have a raise conversation in the middle of the year. Either that, or just negotiate more firmly during the next annual review conversation.
