I have an interview with Deloitte Strategy & Analytics for a Senior Consultant role. What can I expect in the case? Is it a regular case? Or something new? The email I got is throwing me off. Help, thanks :)
How tough is it to lateral to a larger bank, or to exit into corp dev/strategy at a "large cap" company at the VP-ish level? I'm currently in IB at a smaller MM bank, but kind of trapped until I get my green card which obviously will be a few years. I don't hate my bank/team but I do feel limited by the bank (since obviously reputation/size dictates the deals the bank can win)
Potentially have an offer from a local tech startup. I’m 24, currently make ~$95K base and ~$50K, with an additional ~$20K in profit sharing (so total comp around $160-170K). Offer would likely (cont)
I made limited EQ partner in 2019 . This week I was told I’m getting moved to counsel effective Jan 1. My hours were negatively impacted in 2019 by an ill parent (only child) and in 2020 multiple clients said pencils down for half the year (& additional family illness & a death), + kids. I know nothing about the counsel role. What terms/arrangements have people negotiated? I don’t know what negotiation ability I’ll have, but wanted to be better informed.
Does anyone have insights into the Bad Actor Disincentive team at Amazon? Quality of people, team culture, WLB, perception about the team within the firm, etc. BA role.
Recently laid off, and struggling to land interviews. Anyone have tips or tricks on how to get an independent consultant role?
Has anyone applied for McKinsey analyst/senior analyst position for analytics and have any advice? Especially for the “case interview with an analytics twist” part? Thanks!!
Moved into a new building a couple months ago. There’s a doorman who will see me struggling with packages or bags and never offers to help (automatic door so he’s not even actually opening the door). Am I really expected to give him a holiday bonus at the end of the year??
B4 🐠 - How does the comp for an Oracle ERP/EPM associate/manager at B4? Will be a manager at year end at a smaller firm and looking to switch over
Which Big 4 has handled Layoff, Bonus, Hikes etc during Pandemic ( From March of this year till date). Also which Big 4 would be good Firm to join in future ? I am from Tech Consulting services , please vote. 1. Pwc 2. EY 3. KPMG 4. Deloitte
What’s a reasonable salary bump to look for if I’m trying to jump from one big four to another? Currently at 100k with 4.5 YOE at DT
Salary range for CD in Atlanta ?
If your offer is significantly more than you expected, should you negotiate? I’ll be working very closely with the hiring manager, so I don’t want to be setting myself up for failure once I start
When you negotiate your comp, do you give them your counter right there on the spot or do you take it back and make it look like you thought through it? I have a number in my head but...
Had an interview with a recruiter from an agency. Seemed like it went well. However, I got a rejection letter and have been seeing the position still up on job boards. Asked for feedback none received
Any gov consulting firms actively hiring in dc? I have a buddy who just graduated with his MBA but didn't go through consulting recruitment. Veteran + worked on the hill. Fishbowlburnerdallas@gmail.com
Hi fishies 🐠 I’m an Art Director that’s trying to transition over to UX Design. I have experience building websites and some previous freelance work doing some UI/UX. What’s the best route to transition over and would I need to apply for entry level roles? Does an AD role with a UI/UX focus even exist? I enjoy the thinking of UX design and am comfortable designing interfaces but I’m mostly unsure of the process of working with an UX team. Would love to hear your thoughts!
Big4 consulting salaries: have 5 YOE in consulting, 2-3 in industry, and top 25 MBA. If I come through experienced hire route, can I still aim for the MBA salary bands around 140-170k?
My son is entering Kindergarten and his (great but hamstrung) public school can only offer 60-85 minutes per day for remote learning, 3 days per MONTH in-school. Just not feasible for a working mom in this industry. So I met some parents, we hired a private teacher, and I’m rolling with a 4-family homeschool pod. I’m keeping my kid in public school, hoping the curriculums can align and not go crazy. Love and strength to all moms and dads and partners out there. It’s tough - but so are we!
Could some of the moms share their favorite Christmas traditions and activities? Looking for some positivity this holiday and would love to learn about special things that you do with your families.
Hi ladies, looking for advice on pivoting my career. Currently primary engineer for a system that supports 25k users across 200+ offices. I'm bored with IT. I'm a Jill of many trades, networking, wireless, voice, etc. I'm currently working on learning various netops tools. I like figuring out how to put pieces together but it's not much of a challenge anymore. I'm working on putting together a 5 year plan to move to 100 percent remote because my husband wants to retire and move. Advice?
Looking to prep for and exit to Corp Dev out of Strategy Consulting. Any recommendations on how to get up to speed on valuation / modeling? Looking at the Wall Street Prep packages (premium or basic).
Has anybody heard of a green MBA? Does it have any value if you want to break into a sustainability-oriented field?
I just realized the company I am about to jump ship to doesn’t have a 401K match or any contribution programs. Would this be a deal breaker? The base salary is a 20% increase. Offer is due @ 5pm today
Looks like my united status match is not gonna be completed by the time. Is there anyway to rebate? I am 4 segments short for gold and wonder if I can talk my way out
Anyone have any book recommendations? Ideally ones that have helped you throughout your career
Has anyone had a live jury trial since covid? We could potentially have one in the next 30-45 days. I have team members who very strongly do not want to travel to urban areas and potentially be exposed for a variety of very legitimate reasons (personal and family health issues). I’m not willing to make anyone do it. Has anyone dealt with this?
As an SM making $185k, what should I aim for as an exit? I got a $200k offer with better wlb and no travel but also no stock and low 401k. wondering if I I should set my sights higher.
Got rejected from BCG after first round interviews. How long do I have to wait before I can reapply?
Should I be investing my 401k contributions right now? I’m afraid that the market’s going to crash. Would it be a better option to just hold the funds uninvested in the pre tax account?
I’m documenting updates my manager provides every week in my PIP document and at the end of the month he says his feedback isn’t captured accurately. What’s the best way to deal with this? Don’t want to get fired and think I’m doing much better than other people in my role
In Australia. Boarded a domestic flight from Melbourne to Sydney on JetStar. They board their planes with two entrance points. Rows 1-16 enter through the front, rows 17-32 through the back of plane.
I'm looking to pivot from consulting into tech. I've gotten lots of interesting from tech companies on the ops side but am much more interested in product management. Any advice on books or courses to help make the transition? I'm struggling to land PM interviews at companies that aren't tiny startups :(
Anyone in Deloitte’s HCM/HR/WFM transformation practice aware of openings for seniors and/or willing to chat with me? I have 5+ years of experience and looking for role immediately. Ty
Appropriate comp for Oracle Cloud Financials Manager at Accenture? 4+ YOE in Oracle ERP in industry, 8 YOE overall. Midwest city, non-target MBA. Thanks in advance!
From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.
Trying to decide between two portfolio ops roles, both in the Bay Area: Small-ish VC firm, ~135k base + 35k bonus Medium PE firm, ~115k base + 115k bonus Which would you choose? I’m leaning towards the PE firm bc it’s more hands-on, faster learning curve, and higher TC, but the VC role seems to have a better WLB and generally sounds cooler (getting exposed to VC vs continuing in the corporate world). What do you think?
