Any consulting exits to Facebook: good call in retrospect? I'm especially interested in senior level experiences (I'm an MD considering an exit to a Facebook Director of BD role).

I have a business idea in the VR/AR space utilizing AI. However, I lack skill sets to evaluate viability or to create an MVP. Neither do I have a network to tap into.

My plan is taking classes to deepen my knowledge while joining and actively participating in communities to find collaborators.

Does this approach make sense or do you recommend other approaches? If it makes sense, do you have any recommendations for classes or communities?

Senior to Manager-level Data Scientists, what is the minimum set of skills and experience you require someone to have in order to train them to be a Data Scientist?

I have a handful of people from BI and Marketing who want to learn how to be a "Data Scientist" where some of them have stronger SQL knowledge and ability than others, but some of them have more exposure to languages like Python and R, and a little bit of machine learning exposure.

I burst into tears Friday as I said goodbye to the best TA ever! She is now a kindergarten teacher in another district.
