Any current recommendations for student loan refinancing? I’m a third year with $350k in principal after clerking. All federal loans and a stable financial situation (great credit and long-term investments, but cash poor)… other than the elephant in the room. Finally ready to tackle this thing. I know this is asked periodically and I’m interested in recent experiences. Can anyone recommend a refi lender for good terms and/or decent rates?

I refinanced through Earnest and know someone who refinanced through Sofi. We both had good experiences, and both finished paying off our loans. The difference between our federal loan rates and the refinanced rates was huge though. Like 7.5% versus 3%, so it was worth it. No prepayment penalties, so the best option is to take on a plan that you know if doable even if you’re out of work for a bit. And then just make those payments (plus extra) like crazy.

Folks who conduct interviews at FAANG level companies (behavioral and technical): what is it that you are “actually” looking for in candidates? I realize there are standards you’re making sure folks live up to, but is there ever a role that “gut feeling” plays in people you accept or reject?

Hi fishes, How are the projects & future of data science in EY GDS tech consulting? Is it risky to join considering most of the Indian companies are not that good in data science projects outcomes. Some are targetting unrealistic task and applicability of AIML to every unrelevant field. Is it going to be challenging for someone who is from nontech background & joining tech team with not at all software develping experience. Is it possible to cope up with team? Suggestions would help a lot. EY

Hello all,

I'm a PA in the PNW working for a private group staffing ED's in several hospitals. Recently the group has asked the PA's to take on a couple new roles (triaging and rapid track from triage i.e. straightforward ESI 4, 5). With these changes the PA's are considering asking for increased pay in the form of an addition of a COLA (cost of living adjustment) to our normal salary. Was wondering if any other PA's in the ED have these in their contracts and at what rate.

-Thanks

“Keep costs down”???? I am happy to keep costs down by not working on this ducking matter anymore. Maybe stop saying yes to matters that are too small to justify our rates and staffing an expensive senior person on them when you’re already dying trying to get anything staffed. You didn’t have to do shit on this matter, didn’t hear you complaining about my taking the lead and managing everything for you when that was happening. >.>

Joined a big firm (Big4) not long a go and starting to feel like I got a good grip on my current work.
