So I have been seeing a guy for 4 months. We have a pay disparity.. he earns less than I do (by quite a bit). Hello! Generally speaking at B4, other than age-related restrictions (being ~50+), what are the factors that typically drive Partner / MD candidates to choose the MD path over the Partner path?

I have been offered a position at a non-US B4 with a 2 year path to partner. I know one of the partners at the local firm and have the support of the regional service line lead, and am bringing a specialized skill set they are trying to open a new business around. The KPIs seem achievable and I’ll be in charm school to help build support within that timeline. Most of me thinks a 2 year path under these circumstances realistic but my inner skeptic is jaded. Anything I might have missed?
