Hi from CT! High school art, teaching Drawing, Painting, Foundations, AP and Photography (with no camera equipment) happy to see a few of us here
Mine are going well so far. My students are super sweet so far. We are working on foundational drawing and shading for both of my classes.
I’m doing exactly that! I’ll be moving into watercolor soon.
🙋🏻♀️😁 I teach Art 1, 2, 3 and 4, Drawing 1 and Independent Studies at the high school level. I also teach Art 8 (eighth grade art) at the middle school level. And…Ohio High School Art Teacher…I live in Illinois now, but I spent the first 21 years of my life in Ohio (♥️)!!
Yes I teach mostly art 1 and drawing and painting art a local high school
Great! It seems there are few of us. I have Art 1, 2, 3 and 4 (independent study).
yes
I’m happy to share thoughts with you! I like the classes because, this year, they gave me smaller class sizes.
Me
Here! I teach 9-12th grades, but in a small district with no art teachers in elementary or middle. I teach an Intro to 2D Art and Intro to 3D art, which I feel like are middle-school level crash courses. I also teach Sculpture/Ceramics, Painting, and Drawing/Printmaking, after they've had the appropriate Intro pre-req. All are daily 47-minute semester-long courses.
We just finished ceramics in both art 1 and 2.
I teach foundations, photography, drawing/ painting, Advanced Art, and AP 2D/ Drawing
Yes, although in my first level classes I teach middle-school appropriate lessons because my students don't have any art until high school. In the more advanced classes, I try to get them up to where high school should be.
Makes sense. What’s one of their favorite projects?
Wow! All great classes! and in the high school for 10 years and I feel like this is my best year yet. There’s a certain confidence that comes with teacher experience.
