Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

I used to live out there and I'm a former Boozer. Lemme know if you need recommendations!
@OP I'm based out of D.C. but if your team is looking for a Cybersecurity/IT Consultant I would love to switch projects and get some west coast exposure!
Do not come here if you are married is what I've learned in the last week
Dang, you've hit up a number of good things already! Assuming you're not already staying downtown, hit up Fifth Ave, or otherwise known as Gaslamp. 10 blocks of bars, restaurants, clubs! Rustic Root is an really cool bar, great drinks and rooftop. Omnia nightclub is awesome if you're into clubbing, Analog and Barleymesh is a little bit more laid back club/bar vibe.
What kinda stuff are you into? Little Italy is also a great area for lots of great food and bars and as a more upscale vibe than Gaslamp where everyone just wants to get drunk and hookup. Lots of breweries to check out as well! Ballast Point Brewing has a location in Little Italy, amazing food and beers!
If you're into hiking, Torrey Pines is a great one, pretty easy but can't beat the views! Also Cabrillo National Monument has beautiful views! Definitely go to Coronado beach, the beach by the Hotel Del Coronado is infamous and the little town is adorable.
Ohhh and eat all the Mexican food you can get! Try a Cali burrito. It doesn't get much better than actually being in Mexico .
Truth be told, not a whole lot of live music scene in SD. Well at least not as much that I ventured to. Moonshine Flatts (same owner as Moonshine Beach) was the one place I'd go out for live music downtown
Breakfast/brunch at Cafe 21! Their cast iron omelettes and pancakes are amazing.
I loved living out there!! It's an amazing city, so much to do and you can't beat the weather. It was just way too expensive and not practical long term
I did Moonshine Beach last night (saw A Thousand Horses), hiked 3 Sisters Falls today, and am doing La Jolla Caves kayak tour tomorrow. What else should I see or do? I have until Friday here
Ok cool, I'm currently sitting in Gaslamp now so I'll wander around to some of those spots, thanks!!
I'm actually working on Coronado and have not checked out the beach there, haha. I typically lean towards cigars and live music when/where available. Prefer lounging to clubbing
Sorry i went overboard with the comments, I had friends visiting so much while I was living out there I had a routine for all their weekends haha. Ahh I miss that city so much! Enjoy!
Sounds like it! Haha, no worries though, I appreciate the ideas. Going on trip solo is usually boring, so trying to push out of my comfort zone and do the same types of stuff I'd do at home
Nice! Thanks EY1
Go see the charger pl... oh yeah, they moved nvmd

C1, did you like living out there?
