Oh I’m interested in this as well. With the company that I’m currently with, some of the upper management has the mindset that they will NOT let mid-level provider (NP/PA) ever “over see” an MD. Which is just garbage to me. It’s not like we would be bossing the doctor around, but to be able to be in a more managerial role due to experience. Especially when they can’t keep doctors, but their mid levels have been there for several years and know the ins and outs of everything. … i would be interested to see others responses.
I do know that there are some companies out there that are all about mid-level providers having those types of roles.
Looking for similar roles. Do you know which companies are taking mid levels as consultants?
I have done consulting for an inplant company, and it is a great gig. I have been working as a PA for 15 years and using this to network. My hopes are to use this to spring board into the MSL side of things in the ortho trauma, recon or spine avenue.
May I know what type of job postings you looked for? General clinical consultant always comes up looking for MDs or pHDs
I have researched alot on MSL. Great gig, the 60% travel might get old but I heard it depends on your territory you cover. The money though is really decent for relatively low stress job
