P&T is ‘central to our FY23 strategy’ and yet we had to beg and plead to even get a handful of P&T Directors to represent at the Director CLeX happening this week in San Diego.
Not feeling the ‘one firm’ narrative we push - completely tone deaf and sends a horrible message for P&T Directors.
Major missed opportunity to start bridging the divide - particularly at a level where the real work gets done.
7am or 745am flight out of ORD. Leaving from River North. Is it even worth it taking the 745am based on travel time in the morning? When to leave if taking 745am?
BOS —> LGA
What is your general opinion of Teachers' Unions which protect teachers from being removed based on their poor pedagogy over many years?
Starting my first traveling project tomorrow, what time do you recommend I get to LGA for a 9am flight? Flying delta and don’t have premier status/pre check yet.
I'll be moving out to San Diego for a few months and wont have a car, can I get around downtown without one? Also, what areas within downtown are safe?
Looking for thoughts on starting AD relationship for an eventual Rolex in SF vs smaller market that I have ties to and visit frequently (Phx, Denver, Vegas, etc). Biggest hesitation in SF is the best AD for brands I’m looking at is Tourneau and I will likely relocate sometime in the next 2 years.
Anyone looking for an apartment with a den for WFH? I locked in a great pandemic deal on a 1 bed + den on the Dorchester/Southie border til next Sept and now have to move for work. Looking for someone to take over my lease. Prices have gone up on their website but they didn’t raise my rent when I resigned ($400 below their rates for newbies at the moment). DM for pics/deets.
Has anyone been a med tech within an organization that union? I know nurses have unions but what are the benefits of a med tech union opportunity?
I have a question for you. I have been looking for a remote job (in HR) at a credit union. They are so hard to come by! I just found one. One of the requirements is a degree, which I don’t have.
Do you find that most hiring managers won’t budge on that?
The recruiter is listed on the job. Do you think it is a good idea to message her and ask if it would be a deal breaker before I apply? Or should I just apply and hope for the best?
If anyone works at a charter without a union, are teachers generally invited into the decision making process at your charter school? Does your school have leadership committees/teams with teacher representatives?
Hey friends, lots of vaccine scheduling available. While the state's website is pretty slow, I highly recommend checking out Kroger's website. Its chatbot style, but it works. It might take a few searchers for it to work, but keep clicking and there should be appointments available. Also pro-tip, use different ATL Metro zipcodes, it sometimes works better even if your looking by distance: www.kroger.com/rx/covid-vaccine
This is a bootcamp by Masters Union for Product Management. Can anyone please check this out and let me know if it's good
How much should an L2 engineer with over 4 years of experience working for an MSP be making in NY metropolitan area? I am jack of all trades working on ESXi, Windows Servers, firewall, switches. I do have a couple of CompTIA certs. I am making somewhere around 90k and I feel I am underpaid. In the last four years I haven’t really went out to interview and get offers as I kind of like my current job. However, I feel as I am leaving money on the table, which I shouldn’t be.
Have people received inflationary raises? My dad received a letter stating that they’re giving him a 6.5% raise + a one time lump sum of $750 bc of inflation, retroactive to July 1st. He works for a university and is part of a union. Kind of feel like my company is being shady because I work in CRE & we do raises + bonuses in February which was when I was planning to ask for an inflationary raise. But I feel like a lot of companies have done this without having their employees ask?
Looking for an independent non-union director who has green screen experience and can direct comedy, preferably LA!

Hi everyone. This is probably not the best place to post this but searching for options everywhere right now. My mom is in an abusive living situation with the father of my siblings and I’m trying to find a place for her live. I live in DC and she has a stable job in Atl so living with me is not an option. She is unable to get an apartment due to poor credit and rental history. I’m willing to handle her rent, etc. If anyone is renting out a space or aware of someone who is please lmk.
Which title sounds more senior: Associate Director or Principal Director? It’s a pure ego question to be answered with your guts.

I’m an FA within the bank channel and have made the mistake of leaving my first firm to go to another. bank program that ended up failing and sold our books to another firm. It’s become harder and harder to grow a book now within the bank channel because of Reg BI and it’s going to take me a decade to grow my book to where I want to be. I’m a CFP and finishing up my MBA. I’m thinking of going to another area of Finance all together like PE. Any suggestions for me? NOT looking to go Independent.
My 13 year old just told me I looked great Humm I wonder what she did wrong. Also, how is everyone doing with working from home on demanding projects and managing middle schoolers? I am finding it a little challenging and wondering if anyone has a good set up, kind and amount of help you have if any. Thanks!
Does TCS give joining date after BGC completion?
Not to sound like a hater or petty but is it just me or are Indian wedding getting out of control lately? I feel like they're so expensive and have so much going on like some Sangeets have a better set up than an awards show. I just want something very simple for my wedding but idk if it looks cheap/weird with all the expensive weddings that people have?
For SDEs do you feel like coding ability/tech skills should outweigh everything else when being considered for a role or promo?
Any good book recommend about Procurement I should read? Started recently, and still confused about all the different letters used. P2P, Source 2 Contract, diff between contract and vendor management.

Has anyone quit their job to pursue a passion? For those who did, very curious to hear your story. Maybe it'll inspire someone like me who wants to change paths but afraid.
I want to expand my skill set so I can move into a better position within IT and hopefully be fully remote. Looking for suggestions on the best ways to do this without actually going back to a college/university with all the expense. Is Coursera worth while?
Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.
Just found out my uncle died of Coronavirus, alone. Can’t be with my family in person to be consoled and can’t honor him with a funeral in person. I’m devastated 💔

Honest opinion - student debt forgiveness is a great start but only a bandaid. And a pretty bad one at that. These loans should never have been needed in the first place. Public university should be affordable with a part time job and federal grants - like it was up until the ‘80s. But states have shirked their responsibility to provide affordable college education to their residents and now we are in a big shi**y mess because of it and everyone wants to call it a handout. Thoughts?
Name legitimate benefits for getting married. Not love or companionship or it changes things.. I’ve asked many and most people don’t have any beside shared health insurance- not cynical, curious
Been working 8am - 8pm since this WFH started why does my team feel like this is an excuse to expect more availability. Slowly withering away I need to break free.

Now that remote work is more accessible, I’m wanting to travel a bit (safely) and work from diff locations every so often as finances allow. Would love some practical ideas/tips for being more mobile, if you’ve got any!
I would like to gift my husband some new golf clubs as a surprise. Never bought clubs before. What are the questions/research I should be doing??
Get an Airbnb in the Castro or mission district
I love the JW Marriott in San Fran or the Palace, but if you stay in a hotel in the city parking will be $80 per night. Fisherman’s wharf Marriott is also nice to stay in
No matter where you stay, NEVER leave anything valuable or visible in your car. So many tourists don’t realize how bad car break-ins are here. Even a charging cable or tissue box. When you park your car, make sure the interior is spotless.
Hotel Zetta, hands down. Valet the car though or find a nearby lot.
Meredian downtown SF is decent
Stayed at the JW Marriot near Union Sq as well. It was beautiful and clean, and security was tight to make sure no homeless folks lounged in the lobbies. Definitely recommend
I've like staying at a few smaller ones in Cow Hollow. They weren't fancy at all but I liked that the area was walkable to the places I wanted to go and they offered parking. I liked them more and felt safer to me than at the "nicer" hotels downtown.
I’ve only been twice but loved both places we stayed. They are very different.
1. Airbnb in an old Victorian by Alamo Square Park
2. Hotel: The Argonaut
Don’t stay downtown. You really won’t be spending that much time down there since more to do in other places and not worth hassle esp if renting a car.
Bring a coat also I don’t care what time of year you go. Always layers.
Get an air bnb anywhere but downtown!!! Do notttt stay downtown. I stayed in inner sunset and it was easy street parking!
