Brookes brothers
If you are looking to splurge (and don’t foresee your weight changing in the coming years) …. we got a really nice Brooks Brothers tux for my fiancé they had massive sales in December. It was an excellent experience and the fit is incredible. They have shoes but we got those from Allen Edmond at Nordstrom.
If you aren’t looking to splurge on the suit (which is understandable they all look very similar). Get good accessories. Make sure you get a real bow tie, upgrade to the nicer more expensive shoes (especially because you’re less likely to change shoe size over time) and get a real linen pocket square. People can tell cheap polyester accessories from a mile away.

I went custom from Suitsupply for my wedding and had a great experience. Still wear it to events years later
There are no off the rack suits that remotely come close to fitting me without me spending a ton on alterations which typically aren’t great either. Years ago I discovered My.Suit where you go in they take your measurements and you can pick fabric / styling you want. They have a variety of price points and I’ve had many suits, and tux’s made to measure from them that have turned out really well. If you’re like me and off the rack literally won’t fit you I would check them out or similar made to measure shops.
Goodwill!!!!
I’d look on ebay for deadstock of high end brands if you know your measurements.
The standard Suitsupply tux has pretty classic styling (one button, peak lapel, dual vent, and I think grosgrain facings), so it’s a good option if the treasure hunt fails. You could also try Spier and Mackay, but they don’t have a physical store in NYC.
The Real Real has a few stores in NYC and I think you can ship to store for a try on. Lots of high end options in different sizes and price points. You’ll probably pay a little more than eBay but you have the option to try on and return.

You can get made to measure (not full bespoke) for around suit supply / a bit more - but get access to really nice fabric that will last, look great, and be very nice fitting. I go to LS Men’s clothing in midtown east and highly recommend.
