Any tips for gaining focus and motivation to study for the CPA exam? I’ve been ‘trying’ to study for 4 years....I sit down to study and a fog comes over my brain. 😴

Hi Everyone, Started my career in government 5 years ago working in an operational role, then focussed on HR for 3 years working my way up to a middle manager role in HR as a business partner and completed my Level 7 CIPD. I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? Studying for FAR and it gives me so much anxiety. There’s just so much information. I’m taking notes and reading. I don’t plan on listening to the lectures but I feel like I’m moving so slow. Advice?

Just took FAR for the fourth time today 😂 LOTS of not for profit questions and even sims were not for profit!!!!! Definitely more than 5-15% Becker said!!! I got like 60% was based on NFP!

California peeps. I have a feeling I failed FAR, which is my last exam, but my score isn’t released until May 11. Can I submit the reapplication with the CA Board of Accountancy to speed up the retake and NTS process in case I failed? Or do I need to get my exam score first? I need to pass by mid June, else my REG score expires, hence the rush to resubmit the re-application.

So Becker was supposed to charge me $600 to update for unlimited access since my account was due to expire in March. I called them in December to make payment. Now 8months later...they reach out to me saying they only charged $35. I just checked my bank statement and they are right but i don't have $600 sitting around...What do i do? Thoughts?

I've taken all the exams twice and only passed BEC... got a 71 on REG and 66 on FAR. I really feel like giving up. What are some tips to stay motivated?

Anyone switched from Becker to Wiley and regretted it? I did and though I appreciate the bite-sized lectures, I don't enjoy it as much as Becker. My access for Becker expired already and I don't want to spend 2k again 😭 such a tough choice to make but I feel like I'm not getting what I need from Wiley.

For FAR, what do most people think is a realistic number of modules to get through per day/week while working full time. For me, the hour lectures generally take up to 2-3 weekdays to get through lecture, MCQ, Skills, and Sims. By the time the weekend comes, I’m exhausted and need a break, but this seems too slow.

Do I really need the lectures (Becker) to pass the exams? I really just want to do everything else besides that.

Finally feel the need and drive to pass this damn exam once and for all .. far may 25 th any tips ?
