Here are some things that helped me besides medication:

1) Be kind to your body and your brain will benefit. Less sugar, more sleep, long walks when it's nice out.

2) Is anybody in your life making you feel so bad it makes you kind of foggy? Is it possible to get away from them? I think much more clearly since I divorced someone who constantly called me stupid, FWIW.

3) Get a calendar app and put absolutely everything in there. It doesn't have to be fancy—I just use Google Calendar—but having your phone remind you of your tasks and events is great. Never ever tell yourself you'll remember. You won't.

4) Map out every single place you go in a different app. It doesn't matter if you know the way. It matters that a screen in front of you shows a giant turn arrow or a voice comes through your car speakers telling you to go left. This way you don't get distracted, miss a turn, and end up late to stuff.

Start with cognitive behavioral therapy and check into medication if you’re not already being treated for ADHD.

I had it managed pretty well for years just keeping a routine but that got tossed with COVID and having a child. I tried all the apps, timers, organization methods, and such but only medication seemed to have helped. Even more than when I was able to manage it to a degree

Write your highlights and proud moments in one place (or an app!)

This isn't from my effort alone omg. Years ago I had access to an executive coach & she changed my life.. so simple but when it builds up wow.

Here's what I do when it's serious -
"ADHD & Anxiety No EF Left (not one)"
1. Workout + glass of water
2. spill all thoughts via Dictation into text via note
3. Go to Goblin Tools Copy and paste note Goblin Tools !

I like to trick myself and say "what's one little step I could do to move this an inch?"
A lot of it is tied to those broken promises to the self in my experience. External or internal expectations so unrealistic it's traumatic.

So if you can prove to yourself, you can do the thing that's scary. It's easier to make that move or ask for support.

Transparently it took so long for me to actually remember my strategies and write down my post that I lost it so I decided that good enough just has to be enough. Lol

Switching team internally competing with external candidates. was asking a promotion for next grade midpoint but was ok to accept >=50% hike which i told hiring manager before the process start itself which he said will consider if I'm the one selected.

Attended 5 rounds-- 1 coding, 2 technical, 1 managerial, 1 hr. Now after 2 months telling me I'm the selected one, but offering me just 20% hike and same grade

Anyone have recommendations for ADHD coaches, preferably focused on managing it in a senior-level role? Also preferably if focused on the female ADHD experience. Open to remote coaching with folks in other locations but I'm based in NYC.

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.

I work in sales as a coordinator and do a bunch of paperwork with customers online. I LOVE PEOPLE but dread going to work everyday (wfh 3x a week) because the environment is toxic. I just found out that the only positive manager on my team is leaving. I am spiraling. I have a BS in Health Science (no chemistry classes taken and minimal biology education). What types of work accommodations can help people with ADHD? I am starting to believe 35+ of having not managed my ADHD has really negatively impacted me in career growth etc. I'm realizing a lot of things about myself are because of the ADHD. I want better for myself and family but 1. I don't enjoy the same things forever 2. Imposter syndrome and RSD make me believe it's acceptable to start over in new places at low salaries. 3. Typical college won't work for me. 4. I also can't relocate.
