Just make your kid listen to your music. My daughter has been listening to Jason Derulo "Savage" on repeat because of me. Haha.
They Might Be Giants
Jack Johnson's Curious George soundtrack
And whatever you listen to. Trust me, you'll have plenty of time for KidzBop later. Avoid it as long as you can.
Good ones! I’m trying !!
Beatles. My 3 YO is obsessed.
Yes! +Strawberry Fields, I am the walrus... Some of their stuff is surprisingly visual and noun based, which works great for kids.
Honestly we’ve been rocking mid-90s music for fun, and toddler has been rocking out and having dance parties. We went through a period of catering to his music needs and I was going crazy.
Kids bop live
Hi! Try folk music that doesn’t have too much going on, but a steady rhythm. Toddlers like repetition and rhythm
A few to try that have worked for me
Beach boys- bubbly nature attracts their ears
Father john misty
Hannah gorges
Also, try stories with music - peter and the wolf?
Hi! Thanks! I was overly excited to introduce Peter and the Wolf! Also, as a kid I had no idea Bowie narrated?!
Caspar Babypants
+1 on Casper Babypants too
Rising Star
They might be giants and the Philadelphia Chickens book/CD with celebs singing the Sandra Boynton songs. Otherwise just play regular music or audio books. My kid looooves audiobooks.
Rising Star
We sung that daily, I think Eric Stoltz sings it. Meryl
Streep sings one too, iirc.
(Related note, I bought Hippos Go Beserk recently as a gift and was quite proud that I could still recite it word for word 13 years in...)
I second just letting your kids listen to music you love, but if kids songs make your kid happy, this is a good collection:

I really like the singing walrus. Not annoying and quite fun.
Thanks for all the awesome suggestions, all! I should’ve added that we already play a lot of our music for him, including the Beatles, but the request came up because he is OBSESSED with Twinkle Twinkle and The Farmer In The Dell right now, and we hate the production on the nursery rhymes we’ve found so far.
Follow this playlist! It’s from an opera singer & mother based in Brooklyn who is extremely knowledgeable about music (obv) and delivers a playlist every 2 weeks. Classical music and jazz mainly. Love the jazz playlists best + Peter and the Wolf narrated by David Bowie is pretty awesome.

Harry Belefonte. Fun for kids and adults.
Elizabeth Mitchell
Hopalong Andrew
Second Elizabeth Mitchell!
Charlie Hope!
Have you heard of the show Beat Bugs? On Netflix. Each episode is based loosely on a Beatles song. Such a great, great show. If your kid gets into it, you can listen to the Beatbugs albums and it’s just like listening to Beatles but sung in a very slightly more cutesy way.
No I hadn’t! Thank you!
