Hello all, i have. A question regarding compensation for a lateral move. I just received a job offer for an UA position from a competing cyber insurance carrier for $70,000 + bonuses. This job will be based out of San Francisco. I currently make $30/hour for the same role in Chicago, after OT it’s about $60,000. Do you think it would be wise to accept the offer? Should I just quit the legal field?

I have been a paralegal or legal assistant since 2010. I have worked for small and large firms and a TPA. I've worked in L&E, PI, and ID. Billing hours gave me nightmares. Right now I'm in a hybrid paralegal/LA position where I'm responsible for all of the docketing and supporting the managing partner and 1 associate and their 90+ ID caseload. Hi-I have 120K in cash in HYSA. After keeping emergency fund aside. Still have 75-80K available that I plan to invest. After 401k, HSA, IRA and monthly expenses: we are left with 6K every month. So investing 12K every month in market. My worry is with that rate - it will take us 12-14 months to move the extra 75-80K mentioned above. However do not want to make a bulk move.
