They are private equity backed, being one of the early PE investments in the industry.
I would imagine you will experience a firm eager to build and grow, while rewarding top producers
Thanks for the insight. I’m actually excited about the buyout. I have had thoughts of moving to a bigger firm than mine for experience so I believe it will work out well
I'm in the advisory service line and love it. We were acquired, also, within the last year or so. The tax service line has a strong infrastructure and continues to grow. Advisory and Outsourcing are growing by leaps and bounds, while restructuring to provide more support after so many acquisitions. The assurance/audit service line is a very regulated area, with lots of support for questions, et cetera. Free CPE through Becker and LinkedIn Learning for all employees. Special free courses for tax and assurance. Also CPE via podcast!
My local firm was also purchased by EA about 18 months ago and I hate it. Our firm was very well run, and now that we've been forced to adopt EA's software and processes it's ridiculously frustrating. We've lost a ton of staff and will no doubt lose many more after this disastrous busy season. I've yet to see this investment by PE that I keep reading about. If I had to guess I'd say they're talking about the India offices that they're ramping up.
Stay 1 year. Get as much experience as you can. then move to a regional firm. Better chance of getting more pay and position.
