I had interviewed with Deloitte UK consulting in June/July and was called by the HR team by the end of July that the interviews were positive and they're sending for approval for an offer to be rolled out. I was called back later in September and told that the role is on hold due to a hiring freeze. Is anyone else in this situation and have you'll heard back from the HR team post that

Been here a few years and love it. Love the freedom to structure my calendar however I want (other consulting and even industry is very demanding of how/when you spend your time), love the respectful culture colleagues have towards each other, management is generally supportive and genuinely good people who care and people who want to make an impact can. My ideas to better the business are respected and my opinions are valued.
It is ambiguous and could be more structured how we are trying to execute the longer term vision, but Salesforce isn’t that old of a company and change happens everywhere. But I think the long term strategy/vision is there and I personally love the autonomy to define whatever / however I do my job that’s helpful for my team and the company. Maybe you get laid off, but whatever, just trying to make the most impact with my time here and when I eventually leave to another company, would want to say I’m proud to accomplish what’ve I’ve started.
S5 Region and your role please? Are you on 100+% util?
It’s way better than my multiple years at slalom, I can tell you that. It is admittedly hard to get promoted past director, but in terms of day to day work - far and away the best role I’ve been in.
👋🏽
I really like CSG at salesforce! Salesforce invented the concept of customer success and so it’s not your traditional account management type org. It’s more strategic, consultative, & really focused on driving business value for your customer.
My take, from doing 3 years in a salesforce ecosystem vertical startup and 2 years post acquisition.
In Delivery/Consulting role.
The Salesforce culture gets tiresome, but has some upside - career development and upskilling are real but you have to invest yourself into it. Do hands on work and learn the reality behind the hype on each project.
The day to day reality is that you live the culture and wlb of your specific customer engagement and sales teams and management will hand you a flaming bag of dog shit to solve if it gets them commissions.
I had nightmare clients that screamed at me daily, I had giant corp clients that took months to make any decisions, I had clients where we workshopped for months before they decided to give up.
That’s all just part and parcel with delivery/consulting roles, exacerbated by the fact that the delivery is secondary when SF wants the license revenue. In-house delivery will always suffer that.
Salesforce reality I found is that in house
Comp lags and you have to get big promotions or leave to get paid…
I just joined in September and love it—I don’t think people fully understand how shitty life is at Big 4, Accenture, or the big Indian firms.
I’m in the very small minority that hate work life balance and for this reason, I cannot recommend Salesforce. Too much ‘life’ in my work life balance.
PPE, D1 - it is a joke about this place having great wlb 🤓
I am getting interviewed for Senior Solutions Consultant role and the HR has said they have a very tight budget at this moment. She's also saying we don't give variable and we haven't discussed yet on the joining bonus.
I am almost about to get the offer. Should I ask for joining bonus?
Thanks guys...Yep...I will discuss the joining bonus with the HR. RSUs I don't think I will be eligible at L6 rn. I can still discuss though.
To put it simply, no
Yuhhuh
I love my gig. For context, I'm a Senior PA (or TA as we are called now) with Big4, Boutique, and top tier Strategy Consulting experience (18 YoE).
I've had a couple of crappy gigs because the client didn't know what they wanted. But mostly, it's been amazing. The amount of freedom I have on "lone wolf" engagements is impossible to replicate anywhere else in industry. It's like having a blank canvas - and if you're a good influencer, you can carve out a nice comfortable and productive relationship with the client.
My only concern is the impending sunset of the lone wolf engagements. When that happens, I'll probably make a move.
You are lucky to be alone on project.
One there are inexperienced directors and senior director on project thats where project go south.
