You’re probably training it to take your job.
Or generating data they can sell.
Or both.
They paid a ton to build the tool and now they sell the fact it’s used across X% of the business to clients. So they probably are wanting to drive that % up so they can charge more for “being on the bleeding edge of AI”.
98% convinced they’re doing it at my holdco too.
MBA chads asking for more capex write offs. Smart move!

Because millions of dollars have been spent on these platforms so that the holding companies can protect and control the information that’s put into them, versus what you type in Gemini or ChatGPT outside of the agency. Just use the tools, they’re on OpenAI. We’ve been doing this at Publicis (on our own AI platform) for two years now.

It’s WPP Open, not WPP OpenAI.
That said, it’s true that usage of WPP Open is monitored and there has been increasing pressure to show engagement. It wasn’t framed as outright surveillance, but it was clear that usage data could influence perceptions of whether someone was being seen as adaptive or innovative.
Might sound extreme, but it’s not entirely far-fetched. Whether it’s a misinformed post or part of a social engineering test, the broader concern it raises that AI adoption is being tied to individual performance definitely deserves scrutiny.
Easy. Just so you can train it. You're basically been asked to help the company fire you sooner; as soon as they feel the AI is generating consistently high quality responses. What if you train it to turn stupid? What if you also learned how to remove its guardrails and make it say totally inappropriate answers, and incredibly embarrassing answers? Like, one morning, out of the blue, the AI decides to scour the internet and locate NSFW photos of the HR Director, to use as the new company screensaver? Find yourself an willing accoplice in the IT department to erase all traces leading to you. 😝😝😝
