I have 2 Cathy pacific business class seats on hold from NY to Vietnam via Hong Kong in December through AA miles. If I need to cancel, will I get my aa miles back even with it being booked on a partner ?

Hey all - I have to head to a Smartsheet conference in September in Seattle at the convention centre. I’m planning to explore a few days before (Thursday to Sunday), before it starts Monday. Where do people suggest a good bang for the buck hotel to explore and meet people and is easily accessible? I’ll likely shift hotels when the conference starts.
