Anyone else feel sometimes that insurance asks for the impossible?

They want you to go to trial, win fast and pay nothing. Then get upset you didn't settle out the case fast enough when they didn't want to give you authority... It's so painful sometimes.

Desperately want to get into healthcare strategy consulting. 13 years of healthcare clinical experience including project work. MBA. But keep getting told by recruiters that I don't have enough experience to be a Consultant or Manager but that I have too much experience to enter in every level such as a Senior Associate. I'm an accounts receivable expert with 8+ yrs of experience. I started with 96k per annum in 2014, and have worked with 4 different MNCs since then. Currently I'm getting approx 9Lpa, and it feels like I'm pretty much stuck here. Switching jobs increases the pay scale, while staying for a while reflects stability.

When I look at the other member's comments here, it seems majority of folks are earning 20-30Lpa or even more.

Any suggestions from mature audience to achieve a big pay raise.

Hi guys, I have got one full time job for 14LPA from 10.5LPA in Coforge for BA role. On the other hand, I have one more offer for Canada and the job is on 2 years contract basis with 80k CAD per annum where I have to sign 2 years agreement as well that I can’t back out once I get the offer. I was interested to go CA but scared in terms of job security, economic slowdown and a big change. Is it worth going to CA on contract basis job declining the full time opportunity in India.

Case load= malpractice? Small plaintiff’s firm of 25 attorneys. I was a 2 year associate hired and given 50 active files in pre litigation status. 9 mos later a partner quit and I inherited 45 more. I got up to 105 files. Now I hover at 85 active files in varying stages of pre lit. I asked managing partner for help and was told to settle more claims to lessen my load. Is this what people consider negative work culture?

I’ve been tasked with overseeing our summer associates and playing a bigger role in recruitment and retention of associates. I’m in an AM200 firm, but our office is relatively small with historical only 1-2 junior associates at a time. Looking for fun ideas and traditions I can institute with summers and the other junior associates to increase moral and better connect with one another. I know that some other associates at my level are approximately 30% behind other associates in hours on a month to month basis. Yet all of these associates say they are “at capacity”, and myself and another associate still end up being assigned work instead of them. How do we handle this? For reference, all associates are around the firms minimum requirement, it’s just that a few of us are 30+% over and it is leading to burnout.

I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.
