North America is essentially the only major 3 nations that do unconditional birthright citizenship. It's not surprising, at the very least.
US also is the only country where citizens can arm themselves to the teeth based on it being the constitutional right.
Constitution doesn’t follow the global trend or what other countries do. Supreme court cannot amend the constitution. That is congress’s job. In this case, if they do, that will create a constitutional crisis as birthright is a constitutional right.
So it will be extremely surprising if they decide to “interpret” a straightforward and clear sentence to satisfy this government’s agenda
No. Why would you? It’s not something anyone can control. Que sera sera my friend.
So the Drumpf delusion ended with this decision
I had been tracking closely thru the day this morning. And it is a relief for sure.
However, it is not something to be too brash about as Indians. The fact that we have become more influenced by such a decision than say ROW or even Chinese EB2 or EB3 candidates is a reflection of how poor our country India is in terms of opportunities, infrastructure, etc. that we are so desperate to clamor to H1Bs (and in many cases overcrowd them thru WITCH and bodyshopping) and endlessly renew them because even that life is far far better than whatever India has to offer.
If the decision had been anything different today (although probability was less), I would have been panicking for sure individually but I wouldn't hold that against the US. If anything, we should be thankful for the opportunities we have gotten here.
