Would you rather stay in a boring job (good pay, good wlb, boring work) for a year and get your green card or switch to a better company and let the greencard go? The boring job is also does not have a lot of work in the pipeline.

get your green card… it’s a year. unless pay is significantly increasing.

helpful

i think you know the answer to this unless there are way more data-points about new job that you are not sharing here.

smart

F the green card. Do good work and be in a place that gives you great opportunities.

funny

Stay for the green card. Get your professional/personal fulfillment elsewhere.

Get the green card. Meanwhile start networking and prepping

Gosh the boring job sounds like a dream tbh

You should be in que with wait period of 50-100 yrs. That may make your boring job interesting.

There are hundreds of thousands of people in this country that are ready to sweep floors if they can get GC in an year.

What are people’s thoughts on CS masters degrees? I’m not talking about the professional ones designed for non-CS undergrads, but a proper masters degree from a good school. I have 3 years work experience as a data engineer, but would love to dive deeper into ML and a degree seems like a good option. Will companies value it? I don’t have a CS background in undergrad, but most prereqs are knocked out.

What's the scope of MLOPS ? Is it good to continue on MLOPs profile? What's your thoughts/suggestions on this

The entire team got a pay adjustment and I did not. I asked for a pay adjustment with what I knew but even that was still much less. Now I feel burnt out…

Still learning a lot: I need to make a $50k tax payment in Jan 2023 so in the meantime was considering ACHing it to Voyager, buying USDC and earning 9%, then giving myself plenty of time to withdraw back via ACH before the payment is due. Seems a safer bet than throwing it into my brokerage account. Pros / cons? Other than “not your keys not your coins”. The Voyager fees on the in / out still seem to make it worth it.
