I agree but it depends on the local market

Macro economically I can’t imagine this is good for addressing wealth inequality. I am, admittedly, a (small) part of the problem.
I will say demand for my properties has been very high. One house instantly leased to a qualified tenant, and I was prepping it we had 2 people drive by asking about it.
Second house is going empty and had two off market emails (contacts of current tenant) email me asking to get in before we list.
I think I misspoke in my original post. I meant that lots of houses (multiplexes) used as rental properties are being posted for sale.

Ah. I only saw two during my latest acquisition search. Didn’t necessarily feel like more but possibly
OP, I think it’s people trying to cash out as property values are set for some sort of decline (collapse?). Certainly rules forbidding removing tenants from units are being extended by some jurisdictions, which doesn’t help.
That’s what I’m thinking. I found the perfect 3/2 and 1/1 multiplex for $225,000 near downtown and it went very quick.

MFs are moving very fast in metro Boston. Most goes off or premarket. Once it’s listed, multiple offers in a couple days.
People are moving away from the city into suburbs.
OP, where are you looking? I think it depends on your market
