PWC- you're in the private sector....
Amen.
It is easier to find a job when you have a job. If you do actually decide you want out, start putting out discreet feelers.
I am indeed considering doing so; you are not alone! I like my firm, and enjoy my coworkers and, to a degree, the job content. My reasons are the layoff vulnerability and the fact that I can probably make more in the private sector.
Yup would love it. Am looking now anyways but it would be nice to accelerate the process
you dont want that gap on your resume. if you want a different job start looking now.
Every day
I used when I thought Deloitte did 8 week severances + PTO for everyone, but now I know people in my group only get 4 weeks + pto. That's only 2 months to find a new gig vs 3 months, and apparently that small margin scares the poo out of me
D2 you are absolutely right. I should have said "in industry"
There's no real severance package by the way unless you have been around for years
We are lucky to have jobs, many people do not
Be careful what you wish for! It's happened to me. And it usually lasts longer than you think it will.
