Anyone else spend too much time on basic tasks or overthinking whether they should delete something in a shared document or just things of that nature? I find myself spending too much time overthinking what I am working on or don't spend enough time on it and I miss small details?

It takes me forever to write emails to clients because I’m constantly re-reading it and editing it to make it sounds right,

Ok haha so it’s not just me. I swear I spend more than the normal person on this stuff

OMG I do this allll the time and it irritates my soul. I will look down and realize how much time I have spent just overthinking something and get frustrated with myself. Sometimes the easiest things can be so difficult to accomplish so I totally understand.

Literally me. I’m gonna have a heart attack one day because of the frustration you mentioned. Happened to me today.

I think this is pretty normal with non-ADHD people too so don’t worry

checking it once, sure. Needing 15 minutes to read and rewrite three sentences to make sure it reads in the correct tone, uses the correct language, states the correct facts and then rereading it again to make sure it flows - that doesn’t seem like things my peers have an issue with

It's actually very common to take 30 - 45 minutes to write a well written email, so don't beat yourself up too much. I work with a ton of people who don't write enough, and it always causes way more work on the backend. Give yourself praise for taking the time to write well.

Can someone discuss the pros and cons of having a gym close to work vs having a gym near home but still would have to commute there, go back home then go to work. To me it seems more convenient to just on the way to work go to the gym, shower, then go into the office.

Ps: yes, I'm in the office.

I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. I'm 31 and found this only because b school and post mba consulting job was/is much more challenging than anything I did before. What I'm confused about is that even as a teenager I could read entire books overnight. But the last two years of high school I started selectively zoning out and the problem has become worse since. I just realised it now. My doctor has suggested treating depression (I was also unaware of this) with Wellbutrin first (contd)

My psychiatrist today revealed to me that I may have ADHD, still a hypothesis that he is still exploring but from my personal experiences and discussions with therapist, it seems likely.

One example of personal experience is my ongoing prep for case studies as I'm interviewing with a number of firms. I do struggle to keep focus and generally take a bit longer to finish them, specifically the structuring of the case. Does anybody else feel the same way and any recommendations to overcome this?

Had my 1:1 with my People Lead yesterday to prepare for talent discussions. Said I had a great year - but need to work on being consistent. She said when I’m engaged it’s great but need to keep it going. I’ve mentioned my ADHD previously but I’m sure she doesn’t know all the components of what that means. We’ve had org issues - no clear role descriptions or expectations. Yes I do have a hard time staying engaged (and I’m medicated - Vyvance in the am, dextroamphetamine at noon). Thoughts?

Here is my dilemma: I was passed up for manager promo last year and rightfully so a lot of my feedback was definitely correlated to me not properly handing my symptoms causing a good bit of inconsistencies in my performance especially if I lacked interest. Hello All - I struggle with time management. I take medication but I have no idea whether a task will take 40 mins or 4 hours. Because of this, I over commit and under deliver. Also, having been on the receiving end of criticism, over time I have developed a perfectionist streak. I won't turn it in if it is good enough. How do you break out of this habit?
