Apparently buying a car is a bad decision I just was told

It's probably not that bad if you are prepared to buy a brand new car, but as everyone will tell you on here that's not the smart $.

Oh it's only for new cars?

There are options for new and CPO. I used it to buy a Honda Pilot this year. I had intended to buy CPO but due to model changes actually got a better deal on new. We keep vehicles 10-12 years, and new actually isn't so terrible if you hold that long.

If you use the service, be sure to call the dealer and ask for the "drive-away" price. (They will push back but insist). I didn't, and when I got there they'd added $1800 for dealer prep. Threatened to walk and they mostly backed down, but I still paid $300 more than they quoted. It was ~2% margin for dealer so pretty solid deal.

If you see an open job posting at a company you want to work for, what steps do you take to apply? I’ve been told that cold applying and making no contacts is usually not going to lead to anything, and that’s been true in my experience. But should I reach out to someone first? Should i apply and then email someone? In HR? Or someone who’d be directly supervising me? Or someone at my level? And what should i say? Thanks!

I’m currently in a 1BR for $2400. Am I crazy to pay $3k for a studio in a much nicer building in the same area? My current building is trash and I realized having an updated kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room would be really nice, but not sure if it’s worth the price tag vs finding another place at $2500ish. It’s been 3 years since I (27F) moved to Seattle and still don’t have a solid social circle. Not necessarily a big group… I’m talking 3-4 friends who are easy going and not flakey/ hard to make plans with.

Idk if it’s due to Covid, Seattle freeze, a combination of the two or other factors. Any transplants out there who are NOT the outdoorsy type and feel the same? And if so, how did you get past it?
