Anyone have any insight into firms/companies hiring class of 2025?

Which market in Texas? Or elsewhere? The more specific you are, the more specific we can be.

If you don’t have something lined up, focus on the bar exam and then job search. Most smaller firms aren’t going to consider you w/out a law license.

A lot of litigators advise you to spend some time hanging out at the courthouse. Get friendly with the staff, attend docket calls, etc. Smooze and perhaps meet some attorneys who might need a part time law clerk, etc., or who could assist your networking efforts.

No beginning is beneath you even if it’s not in an area you want to practice in long-term. We all have to start somewhere. Just ask folks who graduated during the Great Recession.

Your law school might have a program in which a firm hires you for a set period and the school subsidizes your pay. Consider that avenue.

Join a local bar association and join a section or section for areas you want to practice in. Attend events. Work the room with a goal. Like getting 5 business cards. Follow up with those folks.

No specific or unique insights, but I can confirm that law firm summer associate class sizes are generally getting smaller across the board.

Tough market for many practice groups, generally in transactions right now. Lots of uncertainty that stems from tarrifs, the previous couple of years in a high inflationary environment, and also a unique global environment where foreign companies are unsure of whether to “sell” America or buy in.

Unsure as to litigation practices. Hearing rumors of lots of bankruptcies in Texas emerging from oil and gas groups, given low gas prices. Energy has been pretty hot, but the tax bill is stalling some projects at the moment. Banks are holding on growth plans due to the failure of any M&A growth that was expected after Trump was elected last November.

I have the opportunity to exit to a Product Manager role at a PE-backed software company (noname co w ~$5-10B rev). Pay is at $150k base. Seems like an interesting industry. However, I kind of just stumbled on this and am apprehensive about leaving BCG after just a year out of undergrad. I’m also unsure how stock grants play out when working for a portco. Does anyone have advice for how to think about my next move?

I was a Manager at a Big4 doing PM fed work earlier this year. I decided to join a small firm to pursue cloud sales. However, the position is extremely technical in nature and I'm required to speak tech ( kubernetes, openshift, CICD) to potential clients.
While I have learned from the exposure, I dont intend to continue in a tech role & looking to exit. I'm thinking of Customer/ Partner Success Manager roles with one of the CSPs. Are there other non tech cloud exit opps in industry to consider?

Switching team internally competing with external candidates. was asking a promotion for next grade midpoint but was ok to accept >=50% hike which i told hiring manager before the process start itself which he said will consider if I'm the one selected.

Attended 5 rounds-- 1 coding, 2 technical, 1 managerial, 1 hr. Now after 2 months telling me I'm the selected one, but offering me just 20% hike and same grade

Any chance for negotiations? Any tips or guidance are appreciated. please help

We are two males in our mid 20s looking for a clean and respectful 3rd roommate to sign a new lease for a 3-bedroom apartment in LES starting 9/1. It is close to several restaurants, bars, grocery stores and the building is a luxury building with several amenities. Trader Joe’s is a 5 min walk and the subway is right by the building. The room we are looking to fill will be priced at 2050. You will be sharing the bathroom with one person only.

Has anyone who's worked in HR, Finance, or another role with visibility to compensation information been able to use that as leverage for salary negotiations?

To put it bluntly, I know certain people with less experience and a lower performance rating are getting paid more than me due to my role working with payroll data. I suspect this was due to the fact that I did not counter offer when I accepted this role, which was a few months ago, and now I regret it.

So someone I know asked HR about a boot policy. When he found out that there wasn’t one, but his boss said there was (who gave the guys $ for boots and the claimed it on his expense reimbursements as something else) the boss got mad at him for askingHR (and in trouble for the expense reimbursements) and then 2 days later laid off my friend. There appears to be no notice of bad performance and this person always was the first person on the job site ready to work. Thoughts?
