The Chicago office has great people. However, they redid the office to have a more “collaborative” feel. Basically it’s all hoteling and some days there’s no one in the office and other days you have to work in the cafeteria. I don’t know how much experience you have, but a few pros of being young in your career in BT consulting -
1. Ample opportunities for face-to-face interaction with clients
2. Small project teams so you’re working with directors/partners frequently.
3. Projects usually are shorter in length so you get variety of project work.
4. Better work/life “balance” compared to B4
5. Directly influence project direction early on in your career.
6. Fantastic people.
7. In the first two years I was at BT I was leading projects that had c-suite clients that I was presenting deliverables to and leading status meetings with.
Those are a few of the “pros” I’ve experienced.
What team are you looking at?
Change Management.
Culture depends on what office you’re in and what team you’re on. The consulting team knows how to have a good time and you get great growth opportunities with clients. We work on small teams so you’ll most likely get some sort of PM role within your first three years.
