EY1, let's be real. You won't ride the real one. It'll just sit in your garage and collect dust. I'm speaking from experience here.
Built for yuppies
@Accenture1 Nope, donate it to Goodwill and write it off my taxes :)
EY1, lol. That works too!
I have a wahoo trainer for the road bike. Best of both worlds because I can ride my bike rain or shine.
Get a real bike. Get out of the city. Forget your stresses. Spend 2 hours in the coffee shop talking shit.
I deal with stress by getting on my road bike and riding along the Hudson on Route 9 (NJ side) over the GW Bridge, down to Battery Park, and back. On other days i ride the opposite direction up Bear Mountain and back. Outside wind and air beats the stale indoor air any day (except of course, in winter or heavy rains...)
The people that I've talked to that have it swears by it, but at 2k for the bike and $40 a month for the membership, I rather buy a real one.
Would totally buy one if I was ever home to use it....
Get a real bike, wahoo KICKR, and a subscription to Zwift or Trainer Road.
Love em. The live workouts are fantastic
It's great if you dont live in the city but really like spin. I have two friends that use theirs every day. I miss soul cycle now that I've moved from the city, and it really helps fill the void.
My mom has one. It's awesome.
I love it and have a decent cannondale as well that I use to get outside. Let's me get my workouts in whenever I want. I often travel to New York for work and take the classes in their studio in Chelsea too. Great investment! My husband uses it too--- the $40/mos is per bike not per user, so if you have more than one rider in the home its a great deal. The classes are addicting and the instructors are super engaging. #obsessed #pelocult
Avid, former pro cyclist here - peloton bikes are legit, especially for folks who aren't about that cycling lifestyle. If you have a bike, go Wahoo trainer/zwift route.
@accn2 what's your name? I bet I know you..... also former pro...
Thanks everyone... big concern is how much it will get used with the travel. Not sure my BF would be into or not. I might be traveling to NY a bit more so it would be nice to get use out of it that way too.
