I’ve only ever heard horror stories. Most people only go to get in house and move elsewhere asap.
I’m there now. Feel free to DM for questions.
Sure
I worked there over a decade ago. I had a good experience but I did work harder than at my law firm. Got great experience and contacts. It was an exciting time for the company. Not sure what it’s like joining new these days with it being so huge. Back then we were pretty small and close knit group. Many of my colleagues are still there. The stack ranking does make it a little weird but generally if you are pulling your weight it’s fine. At the end of the day you are in there with a lot of smart and ambitious people though, so expect to work a lot. I was compensated well for the hours worked.
Which law firm were you at for context for the comparison?
Most of the negatives of biglaw (and others biglaw doesn’t have) without biglaw options/comp.
What’s stack ranking?
It’s when individuals on the same team are ranked against each other. Can also happen from team to team. It creates an awful culture, and the “bottom” performers are let go.
Great job if you want to be in change of evidence tampering and obstruction.
Expectation is you’re always on. It’s the Amazon way. But I did get new AirPods delivered to my house in 35 minutes, so I’m here for it. Just not there, at Amazon, for it.
