Anyone have insights on Milbank LA - difference between its Corporate Energy and Corporate general teams?

Since they’re one of 3 firms that pays market, I’d take it.

like

It’s the same team, unless you’re asking corporate vs PF.

I am at Milbank and the words you are using don’t make sense for us. Presumably the energy team you reference is the “projects” team which represents tax equity/pref equity or lenders on renewable energy matters. The general corporate team does what I think of as more typical corporate/M&A that is not industry specific.

If you’re a law student, they don’t really care about your preference so be willing to do either. They’ll just put you in where they have a need. If you’re thinking of lateraling maybe different.

MBB folks on H1-B who recently switched to FAANG - did you run into any issues with visa transfer? My transfer has been filed and I’m a bit nervous about USCIS’ perception of consultants and the current sentiment around H1-B visas.

Why are people obsessed with comparing MBB? Do investment bankers or lawyers do the same? It’s kinda pathetic

I realized recently that I can turn my “super associate” persona at any time. I had it off during covid when my kids needed me and got a bad review. So now it’s back on. I’m responding to midnight emails (and daytime ones in under 20 minutes) and getting work done the same morning. I’m spending countless hours doing edits over edits. I actually don’t like super associate. Why do people live like this 24/7?!? 🤔

Taking an informal survey how many firms (I) have the junior and midlevel summer associates plan the bulk of the summer events (lunches but also evening events) and (ii) count time spent on the summer program as qualified billable work (in that partners see how much you bill to it on your time sheet)?
