Bain & Company Anyone have tips/best practice for reneging an offer? Sadly I have to do this for one of the MBBs. Thinking I can just send an email to the recruiter, explain the situation, and apologize but wonder if anyone has either 1) done this before or 2) has anything in mind they think I’m missing. I can’t imagine they would be too upset (the firm will carry on just fine without me lol), but open to suggestions or feedback.

Anyone up to case this weekend?
Anyone with recent experience recruiting for Boston Consulting Group? Got in touch with a recruiter through referral, was directed to submit an application and already finished my pymetrics. Anyone know when I would be able to hear back and what the hiring timeline looks like? Recruiter suggested to get back in a few weeks but isn’t it too slow? McKinsey sent me an invite for 1st interview in a few days after they received my referral.

That sounds sensible to me. Life happens. Hope all okay.
You’re definitely not the first to do it but just be aware you are probably burning bridges at that company of you ever want to go there in the future

Because they may have a decent reason that is unlikely to repeat? I have no specific examples in mind but I can easily imagine major illness, and family situation as very plausible reasons. There could be others which would need to be looked at closer.

Seems fine, but you’re likely giving up connections with that firm and anyone who was involved in your cultivation process
