So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. I racked up about $20k in credit card debt due to a confluence of things happening at once (move, school expenses , etc ). I have a fair amount of paper assets but not a much free cash. Assets are down a decent amount with the current market cycle and I’d prefer not to sell them to cover the debt , although they easily could. Any suggestions how to handle the credit card debt without racking up tons of ongoing card interest?

A few years ago, I proposed a grant to my Board of Ed, but was turned down... so I put it on DonorsChoose instead, and it got fully funded (about $2800), but my school district said I could not accept the grant under any circumstances! So I had to ditch the idea (and the FUNDING!)...
