IBB is the new MBB
I was having some IBS consulting after some bad BBQ yesterday 💨
NO. I was on a project where IBB was also helping out the client with other activities. I was not impressed with IBB's demeanor and recommendations.
They do mostly telecom/media strategy work. Like any company, some people are good, some aren't. Small company, very sales focused pretty early on.
@pcloadletter can you expand? What type of work were they doing and why weren't you impressed wit their demeanor?
@OP to echo M1, I found them to be obnoxiously “sell” oriented. I get that we are all in sales, but i found the IBB individuals I met to drive sales conversations to an extreme where the client was not getting what was best for them. In addition, I had the client complain to me multiple times about how IBB would interrupt the client who was in the middle of things. I also watched as IBB tried to cram a development methodology and tool down the client org’s throat, despite no one being on board with the method. I also found the method to be counter-culture to the client. Maybe my observations are limited to a few individuals in IBB, but that doesn’t negate my observations. Also, like M1 said, you better be ready to specialize in telecom/media.
Type of work was implementation of a development method and tool. They called it strategy but their version of "strategy" was "tell them what to do in pictures but don't help them actually do it." At least IMO
