I have made enough to do that but I prefer the hamster wheel for now. I also think it improves my marriage/dating prospects to be employed in a proper career.

In my opinion "Barista FIRE," meaning, relying on income from low wage employment to meet yiur expenses in retirement, is usually a mistake. In real scenarios if you run the numbers it usually makes more sense to work for a shorter time at your higher paid job until you are really FI, even if you intend to do some kind of work in retirement for lifestyle reasons.
This is similar to my view on "Coast FIRE."

I saw a “Hiring” sign at a local shop in my adorable hometown. I thought to myself maybe I could pick up some hours to help pay for my up coming wedding.
On the drive home I started fantasizing about how fun it would be. How I would meet so many interesting people coming through town. Then I started doing some math. At the rate of pay I would have to work 40 hrs a week for almost 3 years to pay for my wedding.
If I’m going to have to show up, in person, on someone else’s schedule I’m going to need to get paid a lot more than Baristas make unfortunately.
