I've 5+ EOY in bpo industry. During corona times, I started learning Data analytics (Excel, R, Tableau,. Bigquery). After completing my course from Google i started applying for data analyst job but I'm not getting any positive response as such. Everyone needs relevant experience which i couldn't provide since I'm quite new to this field. So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)

Do Leidos, SAIC, and other mostly-fed consulting businesses pay bonuses to all levels? If so, what does a typical bonus target look like? Booz Allen does not pay bonuses until you get to the Senior Associate level (1 step below Director) and I think that impacts employee performance and work ethic pretty dramatically. I’m wondering if not paying bonuses is common to federal contracting because of how the contracts or priced, or if this is something unique to Booz Allen.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

I'm trying to break into consulting after ~13 YOE in healthcare tech (payer and provider). My biggest hurdle is that I live in a random Midwest city and am unable to move due to having school-aged kids. What firms have a health tech focus area and allow remote hires?
