I'm curious about thos as well! I just can't get rid of my beloved yellow legal pads!!
Is it really that different from an iPad + Apple Pencil?
Agree with SA1!
I switched to the first Remarkable in the fall of 2019. It was a godsend durning lockdown, and I will never go back to paper notebooks. A dormant client wants to pick things back up? No problem! I have all my notes from the past 2 years at home with me. The partner asks to be reminded about a call from early 2020? Great! No need to pull old files from records. I have them with me while I'm working remotely from my mom's house. Notes can be copied, pasted, moved, reorganized, etc.
The only thing I kinda miss is real pens. The Remarkable pen has a little nib that you have to replace every few weeks.
I will echo this as well. I switched over to the Remarkable 2 a few months ago, and I will never go back. It's amazing to have all notes and records at my hands whenever I need them, and having the ability to convert to PDF and upload to client files is so convenient. Unfortunately my handwriting isn't good enough to convert to Word all the time, but it is a nice feature for those with better penmanship
I bought one and here’s my issue: “page” flipping is frustratingly slow. While it may be good for daily note taking, don’t plan on using it during a deposition or at trial. It’ll take you forever to find what you need. Also, willing to sell mine if you’re interested in that. I’d be happy to just use my iPad exclusively.
Definitely interested
Highly recommend a RM2. If you end up getting it, I suggest checking out some of the notebook templates on Etsy (maybe even browse through them now to get an idea of what some of the capabilities are)
My Remarkable 2 is amazing - total game changer here. I make notes on all pdfs and the regular improvements and integrations that continue to come out is promising.
It is pricey - comes out to around $600 for the full package. I use it for personal reading and making notes in books as well so I consider it worth it. I’ve used mine since Dec 2020 without issue. The feature I think that tips the scales to being worth it is the web browser extension that send a pdf of the page to your remarkable. If you’re looking for more personal use, I’d say wait for a supported book store otherwise I recommend despite the high price.
Check out the SuperNote. Little bit of a delay in shipping if you get the bigger size, but after doing some research, it seemed like a better bet than the Remarkable (especially since Remarkable somewhat recently implemented a subscription service). I've had the Super Note A5x for a few months and really like it.
I have the RM2. Carry it in my bag everyday. I love it for planning my day, keeping client notes in meetings, or outlining my arguments for hearings. I also use it for personal stuff. Trip planning, miscellaneous notes, journaling, etc. Battery life is good (and extremely good if you keep it in airplane mode and don’t run WiFi 24/7). The writing experience is great. Just like writing on paper.
The only time I don’t like using it is in depositions or trial. In those settings, I need to be able to flip pages back and forth, tear them off, give them to other people, etc. For me, the RM2 doesn’t completely replace legal pads, but it definitely has a spot in my daily work flow.
I did and it was well worth it
What are you talking about? Remarkable 2??
Many thanks! Hope I can read my handwritten notes…. 😵
