I’m on zepbound currently for inflammation! So far, I have had pretty minimal flare ups/pain & lost about 10lbs. Check your insurance to see if they’ll cover it. Mine covers it 100% now that I’ve met my OOP max. Otherwise, there are diff programs that offer it at a more affordable cost compared to the $1500. Side effects I’ve had: nausea (but if you can consume enough protein it usually goes away). I would say that it’s been completely worth it just bc I didn’t have good quality of life before it.

D2 - honestly I just called my insurance Cigna (like 3x to make sure) and asked if I needed a qualifying diagnosis to get it approved and they told me no. The provider technically prescribes it for weight loss but I just use it for the inflammation
I’m on Wegovy have lost 75 pounds since November with minimal exercise
The side effects are noteworthy
They’re different for everyone but the common ones are constipation nausea sulfur burps and acid reflux
It’s not a miracle drug by any measure but it definitely helps and makes weight loss easier
My biggest advice for people who don’t understand weight loss is don’t get caught up on the scale. Weight loss is about more than just continuously seeing the scale go down every time plateaus and weight gain is part of the process
A big thing to remember is your relationship with food will be key in this
Yes the medicine will curb your appetite but it’s on you once you get off if you will maintain your new eating habits or revert to your old ones
A lot of people do and put the weight back on relatively quickly

P1- i understand the logic but my friend has lost the youthfulness, she now has more wrinkles on her arms and face. The drug has taken out fat from everywhere even in places like her face.
Most people who are on these drugs are not avid workout enthusiasts and eating balanced diets. The drug makes them less hungry too so whatever they eat, makes them feel fuller faster. I can totally see the differences in my friend especially when we go out to eat and drink.
Dropped 30 pounds easily but plateau since. I pay out of pocket and it’s worth it to me

I'm on Zepbound but not losing weight that quickly. Will be moving to Wegovy soon because CVS doesn't cover Zepbound starting in July, hoping I'll see better results.
Yup, been on wegovy since March 2023. Lost and maintained 50 pounds (168 to 118). Got off the medicine in December and still doing well with very minimal exercise.

Nausea for the first 1.5 months. Also a little depressed. But to be honest, I think the depression came from the fact that food had been the only thing that I really deprived pleasure from. And since I stopped craving food like that, nothing externally was making me happy anymore.
I don't think you'll experience that if food is the only thing in your life that makes you happy. But you'll probably experience nausea.
So worth it.
