If it’s not in writing a promise means nothing
Mentor
I interviewed someone a while back. The person is not on par for the position and we offered her one rank down. The recruiter somehow convinced her to join with the promise of a promotion within a year, some % on bonus and also a green card application immediately. The recruiter then didn’t tell any of us about those promises.
She raised these promises after a year with us and I am now dealing with all these.
If it’s not written down anywhere, nothing is guaranteed. Recruiters do not have any power to promise anything nor make it happen after you join.
If it’s not documented, it doesn’t exist
Lol, guaranteed promotion. If you’re enough of a sucker to believe it, then take it. Food for thought, let’s say you had some sort of similar agreement a year ago, do you think most companies would honor it today?
