Yes. Ended up burning myself out and forced out. Recommend taking time to think about what you wanna do, spin the crap you were given as a blessing and move on
Thank you. Yes, I’m going to detach and accept this for what it is. Brush up the resume and go back into the market
When I was in a similar situation, I used that time to upskill. Completed some qualifications and did some short courses. I eventually did move but I think doing this didn’t create as much of a gap so I didn’t feel I had regressed as much
I was going to suggest updating your skillset's , learn something new, take the time to recharge yourself mentally so you can go into the next role.
I'm in that position at the moment but not sure on the way out. It's very demoralising. At the moment I'm catching up on where I should be by training courses on Linkedin Learning and Udemy to hopefully earn my certifications and prove to employers I still have relevant knowledge. At the moment I have 12 years of experience in IT but in my current role I have the permissions of an apprentice.
I’m in that situation right now. The problem (?) is that it’s so much money for what I’m doing that I’m more than willing to ride it out for the next few years.
Same boat. I'd jump if there were more opportunities in the market but as it is today, it's better to wait a little more.
Yes! Went from Sytem Admin, project management and head of desktop support to tier 3 field support. After eight years of that I felt like I had lost so much knowledge and also burnt out. I didn't feel challenged but was complacent. I missed all the wave of cloud based tech by hustling in the field. So it happens
I can’t count the times I have come across this in the tech world. Companies call a position “Systems Admin,” and they upsell that you will be doing all of the tasks a Sys Admin performs, and then day one you are a glorified “Tier 1 Help Desk” position. The only trick I’ve learned is follow the pay. If the pay seems to low for your dedicated title, then most likely it’s the wrong fit. Sucks you have to do this, but recruiters, and HR will “miss lead,” because it’s there job to fill a spot, not to retain an employee. Good luck!
Oh yea took 18years to get what was making at a telco...
Best to open your own business and F these companies

This happens more than often, I was sold a job to relocate from Aus to the UK. Guess what, it was mostly a lie.
