Anyone who has exited big 4 and worked for Embark? Their starting comp for a senior w 3 years experience is 90k and their benefits seem great as well as WLB- wondering what the catch is? Or if anyone has any experience with them?

Sounds like the market rate for a consulting gig right now with 3 years of public experience

I knew someone who left big 4 for there and they liked it. I think a big turn off is the unlimited PTO but culture seems good.

Also just FYI it's not true consulting it's mainly accounting advisory. Can be a great career too but just be aware. A project could literally just be helping a company's FR group book JEs (that's what someone I knew worked on).

Currently a first year staff in Risk Advisory in a Mid-Tier Firm hoping to move to Big 4 for either Risk or Cyber. When would be the most appropriate time to make the change? I heard that Senior Staff in mid-tier would most likely be hired as an “Experienced Hire” in Big 4. So would it be smarter to make the move now as a first year staff since I’ll be considered Experienced Hire anyway?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.
