Big 4 consulting is never, ever 40 hours a week. At least not if you want to be successful.
^ This is the truth !
here it is

They need to update these numbers and add slalom in there too.
It really depends on the engagement and major milestones. I can tell you I haven’t had an issue at all with the unlimited PTO. Anything below two weeks just needs engagement management approval and I’ve never been rejected. Going to be 9 days at the end of June, I expect to take another 14 by the end of the FY. The firm is really stressing when we close. It’s very seriously taken, but there are times when an engagement calls for a member of the team to be on call or deliver something major. The week of July 4th from Monday to Friday the firm is close nationally
Absolutely depends on the practice too. I love the leaders of my practice, very good with pushing for WLB and interesting work. Every practice is different - some have poor leaders, some have good. Find some folks on LinkedIn within the specific practice you are looking to join within consulting, they should be able to provide more info on culture, types of work, etc.
OP… on the cusp of kinda the same situation…still interviewing tho, but the recruiter stressed that they really take WLB and PTO seriously and urge everyone to take the time they need…. If that info helps. But can you tell me about the rest of your interview process? How many interviews? Any technical ones?
That's all true! I've been here a year. Joined right when the world shutdown also was a manager in previous gig and joined as an SC. Has been super worth it, so far
Run now and don’t look back!!
Depends on the service line role practice area and PPMD your working for at any given time. Period!
Same
it depends on the project.
i'm 40-45 hours chilling but I'm on staff aug for half a year lol... not the worst type of staff aug, work is still relevant but yea...
That definitely helps! If you can find the original data source please post it, I’d appreciate it.
Came from industry where I worked barely 30 hours at 75k to working 55-50 at 145k in less than 3 years. If you are motivated then being in consulting will jump start you but you can get burnt out. Looking to get back into industry now and willing to take a pay cut for work life balance.
