Does it cater to only niche technologies or how does this actually function?

Have you worked on an M&A deal? Just imagine a year long due diligence process. Where every request is a rush. It's fun!
expect overtime whenever needed, late night slack pings, and scares from time to time. Even if you don't directly work on the ipo, the work may be more intense because everything is on a higher standard suddenly and there're controls and processe improvement everywhere.
Long story short, you will learn a lot but you will most likely work a lot. People really need to love transaction work to make that their career path because I have had folks request rolloff due to work-life balance going down (not exaggerating). Obviously other factors with how pushy your client is, how your team, is, etc. feed into making the work more stressful or not but definitely try a transaction if you want but up to you from there to see if it is a line of work you wish to pursue.
I did it once because I wanted to see and was thankful for the experience but 100% sure I do not wish to partake in another one.
Depends on the function you work in, how large the company is, and how much of a lift is required.
If the company has built a Sox program that just need polished, not bad. However, if they have nothing and SOX needs to be CREATED.
It’s a shit show.
If you have or can get pre IPO equity, the work may be worth it. But it is a lot of work.
