Their base is generally on par with 4th year salaries, but bonuses differ. I know Jane street doesn’t work you to the bone, so not sure what others here are saying

long hours good pay

why would a company pay a legal cost center cravath total compensation? you need to be more business minded before you move in house

Why leave biglaw at that point

As in they're about to push you out or you're getting burned out? If the latter, this doesn't seem like the solution

Which big law firm in Dallas has the “better” work life balance?

Joining a big firm next week as fully remote lateral and flying out to home office for orientation. The schedule has me in office until 4:15. I’ve already been told I won’t have any actual work. Depending on how many people are there and how it feels, I was planning to stay an hour extra but should I hang around the office until later? First time visiting this city so it’d be great to take in some sights too (although that’s not a priority of course).

What would you say the going rates are for (i) non provisional application drafting and (ii) office action responses?

Question! I just moved(transferred) to another team of my company and received new title, graphic & creative services. I was a senior graphic designer at the previous team. What do you think about my new title? I know that title is not a big thing but why I feel like my title is downgraded here… Good thing is my jobs here at my current team are what I really wanted to do. This is amazing. I love my new team and people here! Super healthy working environment! But just curious about the title.

I’m 1 year post-MBA and was just let go despite top performance results—firm is not acknowledging COVID layoffs, though. Given 5+ YOE w/background in tech sales could BizOps be a fit? TIA!

Had an epiphany recently.

Why do I work so much?

It’s because I have little family and few, if any, friends. Had a rough childhood. My way of making an impression on others has always been through work.

By working, I do something I’m good at and makes people appreciate me, while covering for my loneliness and feeling of inferiority. It’s sort of the only thing holding me afloat.

When I’m probably never going to have friends or a family of my own, becoming partner is the next best thing.

To the lender counsel that forgot to mention they needed original signature pages for a deal that closed early this year and decided to chase and harass me a day before thanksgiving and a day after thanksgiving multiple times. It's super frustrating to be "time poor".

That's seemingly just the nature of working in Biglaw.

But every day you have the option to buy back your time.

How do you buy back time?

It's simple—by saving and investing.

And you don't need to be uber wealthy to regain control of your time.

Consider this…
