I’ve worked for two of them doing insurance defense. They were exponentially better than working for an insurance defense firm, and with one I was close to $200k total comp. I hate doing defense work so I’m plaintiff-side now, but it’s a really cushy gig. You just need to be okay with the corporate stuff. There are corporate things you need to deal with that have nothing to do with legal work.
Basic stuff. 7 YOE in NYC.
I’ve heard worse. You don’t have the stress of developing work or billable hours but the reporting and the BS with minor crap is terrible.
