Hello. My district is currently remote (virtual) and I am teaching a chemical reactions unit. Usually, this is a hands on unit. I cannot do hands-on labs for equity reasons. My district does not have subscriptions to any science lab simulation sites at the middle school level. We use the NGSS. We are standards based grading and I can only grade the stand MS-PS1-2. Anyone have suggestions on free simulations I can use? I teach synchronously to my students 2 classes (2 hours total ) each week.

How do digital nomads work from anywhere? After two years of this whole WFH thing, I realize that I need a proper routine, an actual WFH setup with a second monitor, a ring light, a suitable desk, an ergonomic chair, stationery, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love the flexibility of remote work, and I'm not sure I will ever go back to 5 days a week in an office (or even one day a week, for that matter.) But, how do digital nomads adapt by packing up and going so frequently between places?

I will be joining IBM next week in Bangalore ( physical onboarding ) and my hometown is in West bengal , My father is having health problems , mother won't be able to handle everything and no such person we can rely on . Also I am getting married in January . Hence If i stay in Bangalore there will be no one to take responsibility for my marriage prep also . The math and language arts teachers always give me the "stay in your lane" when I review a math or writing topic in my science class. They act like there is no math or language arts in science.

So I just completed a 3-day training on Avida-ED. It's an online system that models *actual* evolution (heritability, variation, &selection). Plus, researchers use the full version!

Today's high point in my chemistry class: I am teaching Atomic theory and structure. I have my students look at their periodic table and I walk through the information listed for each element. At this point I talk about a lot of big ideas that are related as an prelude to where we are headed. One student told me that she took chemistry last year, and in 10 minute I was able to connect all of the pieces that never made any sense to her. Her 'aha's moment was like candy to me.

I'm a HS biology teacher with 2 electives, Forensics and Worldwide Medical trends. I am looking for online lab resources, I use labster, Pearson and a colleague and I have started to record what the students would do. We rotate one does the the lab and the other is the narrator but I would still like more options. What do you use? Thanks and good luck to all in these unprecedented times.
