Can the hybrid model actually work?

People have gotten so used to just backing meetings up into each other. You logout of one and immediately jump in to another. I remember days full of meetings before but not at this volume.

I struggle believing this practice will cease with any percentage of the workforce at home. I don't subscribe to all or nothing but I'm interested in if this has been addressed. Has anyone's hybrid policy mentioned the future of meeting best practice?

Hi there - my company is returning to office next month. Hybrid to begin before they ramp up to 5 days back in office by end of year.

I think the fact they want to bring us back 5 days is disrespectful considering how much work we’ve put in remotely over the last year. Not to mention productivity studies say people who WFH (and have no kids) are substantially more productive.

Email from leadership last week. We can go back as soon as 7/5 with permission. Had to let our boss know. Phase 1 will begin in July and go through end of Sept, provided schools are re opened. We have an office manager, who is in charge of greeting clients and anybody who walks through the doors, returning of keys, etc., our office manager wants to work a hybrid schedule and we are not opposed to it as long as we can ensure client satisfaction and that the office is orderly. Has anybody been able to make this work?

Just got return to office email. People can start coming in 6/1 but still limited access. Seems like September will be a more official return. They’ve said 75% of us will remain hybrid wfh/in office after that (NYC)

I’m trying to transfer departments at my company and I talked to the MD of the department i wanna transfer to, and told him working remotely is a requirement to me, and he said he’s not sure if that’s possible, and that would depend on HR and the hiring manager. He still forwarded my resume to HR and I got an interview. How should I negotiate to make the role fully remote?
