Bain & Company Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?
Many thanks in advance

Unfortunately it is very normal to get ghosted and led on at all the big investment banks. It happened to me for Goldman, MS, and JPM. It took 6 months from my first interview for one of them to finally offer me a role
Very normal. Did 6 rounds and met with 18 different people at GS. After the second round I was told they were not going to move forward. Then a month later I got a call from HR and said they wanted me to come in for a 3rd round. Landed the gig so don’t despair, big banks are notoriously slow and sometimes a bit disjointed.
Move on
Follow up with the recruiting team...
I followed up once, but don't know what the protocol is for more than once.
Application status changes to "interview completed" even prior to the interview (my experience), so it not relevant. Just follow up, and search for another role. The best case scenario, you have it. The worst you will not have the interview. I didn't have a great experience with GS - one of my interviewers was late by 15 minutes, given the 30 minutes slot. One of the reasons can be that the role was put on hold. In my case, I have interviewed for VP role, which was downgraded to Associate role afterwards.
It means you should live your professional life in a way that you always have at least one standing offer, and interviews should be an exercise you do routinely, as in once or twice a month.
It means you were a protocol interview. They already had a candidate in mind and you were just there to make the process look fair. Are you an older worker and or PoC? There you go…
