Hi fishes,
I’m a fresher and have recently completed my internship as an Operations manager at Amazon. I am currently looking for FT opportunities. I came across and opening at Maersk for the role of Business Analyst. Could anyone refer me for the role or maybe point me to a suitable opportunity?
thanks!

Good for you, OP! Congrats! 🎊
Help in terms of how much a position is worth so you’re not getting low balled.
Congrats! That’s a major pay increase. Were you already at a senior level in your FA role ?? And how long have you had your MBA? I got accepted in the MBA program at a great school but I don’t feel too certain anymore until I find another job that’s sees my worth.
Unbelievable HBS MBA graduate under 80k! Blows my mind
Let me get this straight OP. You have an MBA from HBS and were only making $70k at Citi?? Something is off
I'm in the Southern California region
Wonder if they lowball you on internal offers compared to hiring external
I had an offer from Citi for VP 150k Dallas
Congratulations!! What is the name of ur new job title and do u have a MBA?
Good plan tbh
Has anyone ever asked you about GPA? I have never been asked for BA or MBA.
Nope. Just put it on my resume basically.
so OP you did your MBA from HBS, have 9 yrs of finance experience, and just turned 30. So that means you graduated from college when you were 19? And were getting paid $70k?
This is a strangest story if its true
I'm struggling with the jump from an entry level position to a vp role and a 300% bump in salary...I hope that type of jump can happen but haven't seen it unless someone's daddy was involved. Good for you op...sorry for doubting.
Well my daddy is dead so that’s not the case. Thanks for the kinda backhanded atta boy? 😂
That’s a significant jump in title and salary, not a normal jump in our field (finance) but depends on the company and what they’re looking for. Good for you and congrats!
You’re the RJ / JPM guy, going from Analyst to VP and tripling your salary - are you front office, tech or something else? Would appreciate deets without doxxing yourself too much
People at the job you are leaving were upset? That’s pretty normal when loosing good talent. … Thank for sharing so much info.
HBS MBA and 9 YOE for $235k? Even that sounds low tbh
You went from analyst to vp? Is this ny?
Nope
Curious - what was the salary range for the vp role at citi?
Internal it’s basically only like $15k more MAX what you’re currently making. Outside of Citi? At least 30% more than what you’re making. I have friends that got double from jumping.
That’s awesome! Congratulations!!!
We’re you already with citi interviewing internally?
They never do lol. This is almost everywhere
Got an offer for VP Fraud Citi, 110k, I tried to negotiate to 120k, now they told me that they rather give me an AVP for even less money…….
Run.
Congratulations
Exactly. I find that so true that firms will not want to compensate you internally but will hire externally and pay. What a sham especially since you have been loyal and that is why I myself has decided to look external and live current firm after 20 years. Congratulations
CONGRATS! I'm super jealous. I was just declined after final rounds at BlackRock. Very similar situation - currently AO/Sr. Associate level with ~$125k TC, BR job was VP level with $250k TC - FOR THE EXACT SAME WORK I DO NOW. Literally the same job.
Some firms just manage down and are designed to use ppl.
Amen. Profits up here, again and pay rises are negligible. Get asked to ‘trust’ they will look after you. Only YOU will look after you!
