Are accountants really underpaid?

My starting salary is 80k. All my friends are making way less then me

My cop friend started at 45k
My teacher friend started at 50k
My engineering friend started at 65k
My biology/chemistry friends are making like 30k doing research under a professor )That’s the only one I’m not sure of but i know they make peanuts)

We are all in the same COL and we all have a bachelors degree. In addition to a higher salary I’ll probably have higher growth potential too

I would love some suggestions on transitioning and career paths.

I gave 15+ years in healthcare claims (payer side, physician/facility side) and revenue cycle management. I’m burnt out and want to transition away from revenue cycle mgmt.

I only have my Associates degree and would currently need to take a job that is remote with no/minimal phone responsibilities. What roles do you recommend that would allow me to transition my skills while maintaining a minimum salary of 50k?

The same thing happened for me in 2018, Initially I gave Interview for infy got offer from them after that I joined in TCS.
