Citi - SVP Salary Expectations for Tech / Controls
Looking at some SVP roles for technology / controls in the Southwest region. Glassdoor indicates $185-240k as range base comp, and target of $185-205k for average base. Is that accurate?
Glassdoor also targets $40k for variable comp. average. Is that accurate?

I'm in LA with seven years under my belt (civil litigation) and currently make $150k, no billable hour requirements, no bonuses but my health coverage is 100% covered and have a fringe benefit (gym membership) that is also 100% covered. My first four years was trial prep and was making approx. $55k and working nearly 10 hour days - I had absolutely no life outside of that office. The new office I'm with is the same field but now I oversee a team and manage the firm's day-to-day tasks and schedules.
Wow! The health insurance is 100!! Good for you. That’s so important. Having read this, I think it’s fair to ask for a bit more. My first check of the month goes to rent almost in its entirety so $125 is not really cutting it. I’m beginning to get fed up with the lack of work life balance in trial work. I loved it 5 years ago, but now I’m burning out.
I’m in NorCal but have friends working in LA as litigation/trial sr paralegals making 180K+OT+bonus. This is one of the top10 law firms so maybe comp is a bit better. Might be easier looking into a new job than asking for a raise (usually they’ll max out at 10% anyway). Good luck!
I’m definitely looking if I don’t get the raise. Thanks. I’m asking for a meeting tomorrow.
I’m just here to say that I’m in San Diego, work for the government, and I make WAY less than all of you. WTH?! *updates resume and begins looking elsewhere*
The benefits for a mid-career senior level paralegal are NOT good at all. Coming from another state, I’m underwhelmed by the benefits completely. You basically have to work until you die and the only affordable health insurance is a crappy HMO.
I have a comp review meeting tomorrow. Any advice on how not to sound whiny? Should I just focus on the reasons why I deserve it?
